Railway Lanterns by Pilgrim Pete

Greetings. Pilgrim Pete here at http://www.kisantiques.com/ . I have learned a bit about railway lanterns. There at are several different ones here at the shop. Lanterns are the most favoured collectible from the railway era. These lanterns tend to remind people of the steam power age where everyday life in some form was connected to the railway. Lanterns are defined by the metal cage containing a transparent or translucent globe that protects an interior light source that was fed by a combustible fuel. They come in a variety of different colours. I can picture the rail road employee swinging that coloured flame to warn his fellow workers of up coming dangers. Keep posted for more adventures. Sincerely Pilgrim Pete
